In January 2017, the state of Illinois passed Public Act 099-0922 which requires any school building build before 2000 where 10 or more students Pre-K to 5th grade attend to test for lead at each "source of potable water." Lead materials were utilized in both piping and fixtures, with the fixtures being manufactured with lead up to 2014.
This school was water tested in the spring of 2017. Parents and guardians of students must be notified of water sources whose lead results are greater than 5.00 micrograms per liter.
Lead management and abatement plans ere immediately instituted.
The testing results are available at DGAS.
